Electronic Production Lab Supervisor / Manager
Supervising a small but growing group of highly skilled technicians, producing low volume, capital equipment, the appointee will both contribute to and lead the success of the team, at all times maintaining a focus on client needs. The successful candidate will relish the challenge and responsibility of meeting or exceeding those needs and routinely beating delivery targets.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the role encourages individual initiative and offers significant autonomy for further developing the laboratory standards, processes and expanding facilities.
Understanding of low volume, electronic PCB assembly is a pre-requisite, as is an understanding of supply chain management for low volume manufacture. Excellent communications skills and a natural problem solving ability are essential. PCB layout skills are a distinct advantage (Easy PC ideal), but not essential.
Organisational and Project management skills, with a history of operating to time and budget are important.
Enthusiastic and self motivated with a commitment to Quality and excellence in customer service are fundamental, as are consistency, attention to detail and good documentation skills. The ability and personality to fit into and work as part of a close-knit team is also vital.
Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate – PC literate, BTEC HNC or Graduate-level electronics engineer with demonstrable trouble-shooting ability to component level in both the analogue and digital fields, and a minimum of two years experience supervising or managing low volume, hi-tech electronics production.
